Hollybush Conservation Centre is found in Kirkstall, Leeds, just next to the canal on Broad Lane. It’s a real hidden gem of Leeds, and boasts a beautiful wildlife garden, which is secretly tucked away, so you’d never know it was there unless someone told you.
The centre has launched a new cafe within their farmhouse building, and it’s open Tuesdays – Thursdays, 10.30 – 2.30, serving tea, homemade cake, and light lunches, which is often a seasonal soup. Emilia and I took a stroll down the canal, and snuck in to devour some delicious lemon drizzle cake…
We also had a romp around the wildlife garden, which is beautiful throughout the year, but never more so than in summer. There’s much to discover; secret pathways, ponds, raised beds, actual raised BEDS (I kid you not), stiles and nooks and crannies, all bursting with life.
It’s free to go and have a walk around the gardens, so get down there and support this fantastic centre that’s doing so much great work with volunteers and community groups. Oh, and eat CAKE.
(Also, follow Hollybush on Facebook to keep up to date about events and open days etc.)
